The deputy in the Assembly of People’s Representatives, Youssef Tarchoun, said on Tuesday April 22, 2025 that the bill aimed at abolishing subcontracting will indeed be adopted. The plenary session for its exam is temporarily set for May 1.
Speaking on national radio waves, Tarshoun revealed that this legislative text will have a retroactive effect, applying until March 2024.
The parliamentarian specified that any measure taken against workers under subcontracting contract after the date of March 6-date of publication of the project-will also be applicable to them.
Tarchoun indicated that the hearings around this project are now completed. He added that certain amendments remain to be examined, before writing the final report. As of this Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the deputies will start the adoption of articles one by one.
Finally, he stressed that two points in the initial text require changes, which have been discussed with all the parties concerned.
