During a plenary session held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in the Assembly of People’s Representatives (ARP), the Minister of the Interior Khaled Nouri answered ten oral questions asked by several deputies.

The exchanges focused on crucial subjects such as irregular migration, public security, administrative appointments, as well as local issues, especially in Hammamet.

Irregular migration: “Tunisia will not be an installation land”

Arrested by deputy Yassine Mami on the migratory situation, Khaled Nouri said firmly:

“Tunisia will never be a land of installation for irregular migrants from sub -Saharan Africa who seek to join Europe. »»

He said that his ministry is working in coordination with the military institution to further secure land and sea borders as part of an operational plan in progress.

Security and public order

The Minister also stressed that the Ministry of the Interior has alternative plans to deal with various threats to public order, including the fight against drug trafficking networks.

Reacting to the concerns linked to Hammamet – in particular the connection to electricity and gas networks, updating the development plans, and the installation of surveillance cameras – the minister recalled that these difficulties are not specific to this city.

He stressed that local authorities were called upon to apply the December 2023 circular in order to regularize situations on a case -by -case basis.

Regarding security in Hammamet, Nouri announced the allocation of a budget of 500,000 dinars for the installation of 20 surveillance cameras, and the intensification of the security presence, in particular the approach of the summer season.

Administrative appointments: Criteria and current surveys

To the question of deputy Ahmed Saïdani concerning the alleged “political appointments” in the ranks of delegates and OMDAS, the minister indicated that 86 criteria are taken into account in the selection process.

He also revealed that complaints have been filed against certain delegates, and that surveys are underway to shed light on these reported behaviors.
