The Chamber specializing in financial corruption affairs with the Tunis Court of Appeal canceled, this Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the judgment of first instance sentenced Riadh Ben Fadhel to four years and six months in prison. This decision follows an regularization of its financial situation with the authorities concerned.
Initially, the sixth Chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance, competent in matters of financial corruption, had recognized the leader of the Al-Qotb party guilty of customs and banking crimes, and had sentenced him to a prison sentence.
Riadh Ben Fadhel appealed, and his lawyers provided documents attesting to the regulation of financial debts and litigation, which led to the judicial proceedings in this case.
Despite this favorable decision, Riadh Ben Fadhel remains incarcerated within the framework of another case educated by the financial judicial center.
Riadh Ben Fadhel was sentenced on May 30, 2024 by the Chamber specializing in financial corruption affairs to a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison, accompanied by a fine of two million dinars. It should also be noted that suspicions of embezzlement of seized property and money laundering weigh on him.
