Switzerland and Tunisia reaffirmed, Thursday, April 24, the solidity of their partnership during the official launch of the new Swiss cooperation program for the period 2025–2028. Organized a week after the 14th annual meeting of the program’s steering committee, the event brought together Tunisian media, including Webdo.TN and all the partners to implement projects supported by Switzerland.

Designed in close consultation with the Tunisian authorities, the new program aligns the national priorities and sectoral strategies of the country. It benefits from an indicative budget of 60 million Swiss francs (around 211 million Tunisian dinars) and is part of the continuity of a longtime Swiss commitment. Objective: support development efforts with a spirit of respect, dialogue and partnership.

Fruit of a collaboration between three Swiss federal offices – the Directorate of Development and Cooperation (DDC), the State Secretariat for Economy (SECO) and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) – The program is based on two interdependent pillars: economic prosperity and social stability. It emphasizes sustainable development, inclusion, support for reforms, strengthening governance and concerted management of migration.

In coherence with the national Tunisian development plan, Switzerland strengthens its support for macroeconomic reforms, energy transition, urban development, vocational training and social cohesion. Particular attention is paid to the regions of the interior and the integration of gender, equity and transparency principles at all stages of the projects.

On the sidelines of the launch, a Swiss delegation made up of Nicolas Randin (vice-director and chief of the Africa division in the Federal Foreign Affairs Department), Maël Fedrigo (SECO) and Julien Bettler (DDC) visited several emblematic projects in Tunisia and encountered local partners in various regions.
