The Minister of Tourism, Sofiene Tekaya, received Thursday April 24 at the headquarters of his ministry, Jan Lipavský, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, on an official visit to Tunisia at the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti.
This visit is part of the strengthening of relationships of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Czechia, as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, scheduled in 2026. The emphasis was placed on priority areas, in particular tourism, investments and trade.
During their interview, the two ministers discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the tourism and craft sectors.
They notably approached the means to intensify tourist flows between the two countries, to promote the diversity of the Tunisian tourist offer, and to develop aerial connectivity knowing that each year, Tunisia welcomes nearly 150,000 Czech tourists who come to take advantage of the sea, desert and history.
The training and exchange of expertise in the tourism and craft fields were also at the heart of the discussions.
The two parties agreed to continue the current cooperation projects, in the common interest of the two nations.
