The Defense Committee of the President of the Destourian Party, ABIR Moussi, announced, in a statement published this Saturday, April 26, that their client was transferred yesterday morning to Kassab hospital in Tunis.
Presented before a specialized medical committee, ABIR Moussi was examined and his state of health was deemed to be concerned, according to the same source. Doctors have found the lack of improvement and the persistence of acute pain.
The medical committee also noted that the penitentiary establishment had not applied the medical recommendations issued in recent months, which would have contributed to the continuous degradation of the state of health of the former deputy. Faced with this situation, doctors prescribed treatment based on more powerful pain relievers as well as physiotherapy sessions.
The Defense Committee urged the competent authorities to provide without delay the logistics and human resources necessary to guarantee the medical care of their client, denouncing a “continuous physical torture”. It also criticizes the Tunisian state for ignoring a UN decision qualifying the detention of ABIR Moussi “arbitrariness” and demanding its immediate release.
As a reminder, ABIR Moussi has been in detention since October 2023 and is the subject of prosecution in several judicial cases.
