During a visit on Saturday April 26, 2025, the Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, presented a series of urgent decisions concerning the health sector in the delegation of Mezzouna in Sidi Bouzid.
This announcement followed an inspection of the local hospital as well as a long listening session organized with several residents of the region and local deputies.
Among the immediate measures, the Minister promised the strengthening of human resources, especially in nurses, drivers and specialist doctors, in particular in pediatrics, gynecology and orthopedics. He also announced the implementation of rotating consultations, pending the installation of a prefabricated quality hospital, like that carried out in the governorate of Jendouba.
This establishment, which will include emergency, dialysis and hospitalization services, should be operational within one year at the latest, according to its words.
Regarding the local hospital in Mezzouna, the minister assured that he will be reinforced to improve the reception of patients, in particular the emergency department. An analysis laboratory, a medical imaging service, a new ambulance and a bus for the transport of dialysis patients will also be added, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed.
