President Kais Saied received yesterday, at the Palais de Carthage, the head of the Sarra government Zaâfrani Zenzeri. A meeting during which the Head of State reaffirmed his desire to impose a clear CAP: to place social issues at the heart of government action.
Kais Saied demanded that “the final resolution of social problems is an absolute priority” in the development of future legislative texts. For him, each official who turns their back on popular claims will have to answer in front of the people.
In an offensive rhetoric, the president has drawn up an almost Manichean painting of the current situation: “The fight for national sovereignty today opposes the popular will to a moribund system, decided to be reborn and sowing chaos”. A way of appointing, without naming them, his political adversaries and the old circles of power.
Praising the Tunisian youth and the maturity of the people, Saied welcomed a population which “was able to unmask the impostures rejected by history”. A meaningful message, in a context where socio-economic and political tensions remain lively.
Finally, the president promised that the current reforms would not be simple adjustments: “the efforts are very real, and the solutions implemented will be radical”.
