The investigating judge at the Manouba Court of First Instance ordered, this Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the placement in detention of three people as part of the investigation into the assassination of the lawyer Mongia Mangai.
It is his ex-husband, one of his sons and a washing station employee, all three prosecuted for voluntary homicide with premeditation.
In a statement to the TAP agency, Mohamed Amine Hammami, spokesperson for the Tunis court of first instance and substitute for the public prosecutor, said that a research mandate had been issued against the victim’s second son, after he was established that he had left the territory.
The body of Mongia Mannaï was found on April 26 in the northern waters canal, near the Manouba sports complex. Calcinated and submerged, it could be identified thanks to genetic analyzes.
