Towards an increase in wages in the private sector

The Minister of Social Affairs, Issam Lahmar, announced in a media declaration on Thursday, May 1, 2025, the launch of a new cycle of negotiations on May 6 and 7 in progress between the ministry and the social partners.

This round relates to the increase in wages in the private sector in order to improve working conditions, stressing that social dialogue has never been interrupted or suspended.

Regarding the resolution of labor conflicts and social dialogue within companies, Issam El Ahmar said that 99 % of collective work conflicts have been resolved, with solutions satisfying the two parties and the signing of agreements for this purpose, according to its declaration on the sidelines of the celebration of the International Labor Day and the tribute paid to 40 workers from the public and private sectors, as well as representatives of a number of companies Tunisian and foreign and investment groups present in several governorates.
