The Tunisian automotive market experienced a significant increase in the first quarter of 2025, with 17,439 vehicles sold, all circuits combined (approved dealerships and parallel market), against 15,343 during the same period in 2024.
According to figures published by the Syndicale Chamber of Dealers and Manufacturers Automobiles, affiliated with UTICA, 11,860 vehicles were sold by approved dealers, recording an increase of 5.9% compared to the 11,191 units sold last year during the same period.
The parallel market, for its part, experienced a spectacular increase of 34%, with 5,579 vehicles sold against 4152 a year earlier. This segment designates sales made by private traders, often outside the official network, located in different regions of the country.
Regarding popular cars, 1632 units were sold, slightly in relation to the 1453 sold in the first quarter of 2024. These vehicles, offered by six brands, are displayed at a price from 28,925 to 34,805 Dinars. The average sales in March 2025 was 570 cars, compared to 526 in March 2024.
On the side of utility vehicles, 3,637 units found takers between January and March 2025, against 3,296 at the same period last year, an increase of more than 10%. As for passenger cars, sales reached 8,223 units, up 4.1% compared to the 7,895 units of 2024.
