In a series of meetings held on Monday May 12, 2025 at the Palais de Carthage, President Kaïs Saïed has multiplied the declarations of principle on key files: public transport, agricultural land and social justice.

Received in the first place, the Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, was invited to accelerate the restructuring of the public transport sector. The president spoke of the upcoming delivery of bus from abroad, calling for overcoming logistical obstacles to relieve users. He was also uncompromising on the future of Tunisair, plagued by strong disturbances: refusal of any privatization and opposition to the transfer of Tunis-Carthage airport were clearly repeated.

In a second step, President Saïed received the Minister of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Maritime Fisheries, Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh, on the occasion of the 61ᵉ anniversary of the 1964 law on the nationalization of agricultural land. The Head of State has ordered a complete census of agricultural land in collaboration with the Ministry of State Domains, recalling that certain lands are illegally exploited. He pleaded for young projects to access these resources to ensure not only food self -sufficiency, but also positioning on international markets.

Finally, addressing the government’s heads, Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri, Kaïs Saïed said that social justice must remain the base of any reform, criticizing sectoral approaches and post-revolutionary drifts. According to him, only an integrated national vision will take up the economic and social challenges, believing that “the people expect” and that “those who are not ready to serve the general interest have no place in the state apparatus”.
