The Libyan authorities have closed, since the night of Monday, May 12, 2025, the border posts with Tunisia, namely the post of Dhehiba and that of Ras Jedir, for the entries and exits, and this, until further notice.

This Libyan decision comes following tensions in the capital Tripoli, which led to the death of Abdel Ghani al-Kikli, leader of the stability support apparatus (SSA), a powerful armed group in the Abou Slim district, in the south of the capital,

Violent clashes took place in Tripoli between rival militias from Misrata and other affiliated to the Abu Slim region, on the outskirts of the Libyan capital.

The Tunisia Embassy in Tripoli called on the Tunisian community to stay at home and show extreme vigilance.
