The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, chaired on Wednesday May 14 at the presidential palace of Carthage the official oath ceremony of Abdelhamid Boukadida, freshly appointed at the head of the governorate of Ben Arous.
This inauguration is part of the presidential vision of an exemplary local supervision, based on integrity, proximity to citizens and administrative efficiency. It occurs a few days after the end of Wissem Mraidi’s mission, who had held this function for eight months.
Engineer by training, Mr. Boukadida forged a reputation for excellence within the high Tunisian administration. His career is marked by major experiences at the Ministry of Equipment and Housing, where he managed the regional services of Ben Arous before chairing the Tunisian motorway company.
The appointment of this experienced technocrat follows a surprise visit to President Saïed in several localities in the region, Sunday, May 11. During this night inspection, the head of state would have noted what the presidency describes as “serious dysfunctions” in local management.
This solemn ceremony ends the speculations that started yesterday. Indeed, certain media and accounts on social networks had disseminated rumors evoking a possible dismissal of Mr. Boukadida even before his official function.
