The unemployment rate drops to 15.7%

The National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced, in a statement, that the unemployment rate decreased to reach 15.7% in the first quarter of the current year, against 16.0% in the third quarter of the year 2024.

The unemployment rate in men increased, reaching 13.6%, against 13.3% in the third quarter of 2024. On the other hand, among women, the unemployment rate fell to 20.3%, against 22.1% in the third quarter of the previous year.

According to the same source, the unemployment rate among higher education graduates also decreased, reaching 23.5% in the first quarter of 2025, against 25% in the third quarter of 2024. This rate was estimated at 13.6% in men and 30.7% in women for the first quarter of 2025.
