The preparations for the 2025 pilgrimage enter their final phase. The first flights carrying Tunisian pilgrims to the holy places will begin this Sunday, May 18, with two planes that will take off from Tunis-Carthage International Airport around 10 am. Departures will then continue from the airports of Sfax, Monastir, Djerba, Tozeur and Tabarka.

According to the authorities, 10,982 Tunisians will perform the Hajj this year, from all regions of the country. The oldest of the pilgrims is over 90, while the youngest has only 24.

As part of the preparation for this trip, the Ministry of Religious Affairs organized training sessions in seven regions. These allowed pilgrims to familiarize themselves with the members of the Tunisian mission-made up of religious experts, health professionals and representatives of the company responsible for accommodation-and to prepare for the various aspects of the HAJJ: rituals, health, logistics.

In Mecca, pilgrims will be housed in the central area, less than 700 meters from the mosque, in order to facilitate their access and their movements during the rites.

The official Tunisian mission is made up of 330 members, mobilized to supervise pilgrims in the best conditions. A close coordination work is carried out with the Saudi authorities, who have deployed significant logistical resources despite a reduction in the number of accompaniers authorized this year.
