The national health security body announced, Friday, May 16, 2025 on Friday, 2025, the seizure of large quantities of foodstuffs deemed dangerous for public health, following control operations carried out in several governorates.
Among the products withdrawn from the market are 530 liters of juice and soft drinks stored in a wholesale business, not meeting the health standards in force. In Sousse, the proceedings have entered 672 kg of food products deemed unfit for consumption.
In the governorate of Kairouan, the agents intercepted 600 liters of fresh milk in unknown origin, kept in deplorable conditions and releaseing strong foul smells. In Tataouine, around 2,200 kg of dairy products were seized due to the non-compliance with the cold chain during transport and distribution. This breach seriously compromises the sanitary quality of these products.
Finally, in Gafsa, 2.3 tonnes of food products were discovered in a warehouse that respects neither the hygiene rules nor the conservation conditions.
The body said that minutes have been drawn up in all cases and that legal proceedings will take their course once the administrative investigations are finalized. It recalls the importance of compliance with food security standards to preserve the health of consumers.
