The Minister of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries, Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh, received this Friday, May 16, 2025, Berik Aryn, Director General of Islamic Organization for Food Safety (IOFS), on Friday, on an official visit to the region, after stages in Morocco and Algeria.
The meeting focused on the prospects for cooperation between Tunisia and the organization, in particular on food security programs. The discussions also made it possible to examine the means to strengthen this collaboration and to expand its areas of intervention.
The two parties addressed the preparations for the seventh session of the IOFS General Assembly, in which Tunisia will participate as a guest of honor.
At the end of the exchange, it was agreed to set up a technical working group responsible for studying the possibilities of support for Tunisia, in particular in terms of agricultural research, cereal sector, management of water resources, agricultural production and the fight against desertification.
