As Eid Al-Iida approaches, the interprofessional group of red meats and milk (Givité) set the reference price of the sheep of sacrifice at 21,900 dinars per kilo, regardless of the weight of the animal. This rate will apply in all points of sale under the group.
The sale will officially start on Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, hydraulic resources and fishing said in a statement published on Tuesday.
This price was arrested after several consultation sessions between players in the sector, with the aim of preserving the purchasing power of Tunisians while ensuring market balance during this major religious holiday.
The Givité calls on breeders to massively join its organized sales circuits and invites citizens to supply themselves with it, stressing the importance of going through supervised markets to guarantee quality and transparency of transactions.
