Revival of public recruitments to modernize the administration

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, has agreed to relaunch recruitments in several public service sectors. A decision announced yesterday by the Minister of Social Affairs, Issam Lahmar, on the sidelines of parliamentary debates on the new law framing employment contracts and the prohibition of subcontracting.

According to the Minister, this initiative first aims to replace retirements, but also to open the way to the integration of young people in the public job market. In a difficult economic context and persistent unemployment, especially among graduates, this announcement represents a strong signal addressed to a youth often in search of professional prospects.

Issam Lahmar stressed that this measure is part of a national strategy for modernizing the Tunisian administration, in response to human resources needs, but also in new skills. The government thus aims to energize public structures, by injecting new blood into institutions, and by promoting young people access to positions of responsibility.

He also specified that priority will be granted to the most motivated young people, ready to fully engage in the management of public affairs. Recruitment will therefore not only be an administrative process, but a strategic lever to strengthen efficiency and innovation within the public service.

If the Minister has not detailed the sectors concerned, sources close to the file indicate that the areas of education, health, territorial administration and social services could be part of the priorities, reports Mosaique FM. The number of posts to be filled, as well as the competition calendar, should be announced soon by the ministries concerned.
