During the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank group, which are currently held in Algeria, the Tunisian delegation led by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, held a series of strategic meetings with several international financial partners.

These exchanges mainly focused on the current state of bilateral cooperation, investments, trade and funding. They were also an opportunity to take stock of the portfolio of current projects funded by partners, but also to explore new avenues to diversify and strengthen these collaborations.

“We have noticed a real will on the part of our international partners to continue their support for Tunisia in its development, fully respecting our sovereign choices,” said the Minister in a declaration to the Tunis Africa Press (TAP) agency.

These meetings are essential to consolidate a climate of trust with donors and enhance the progress made by the Tunisian economy, which should encourage the financing of new structuring projects in the country.

Among the personalities encountered by the Tunisian delegation are the vice-president of the Islamic Development Bank group, the Director General of the Saudi Development Fund, as well as the Director General of the Islamic Institution for Guarantee of Investments and Exports Insurance. The delegation also had exchanges with the Director General of the International Institution for the Financing of Trade, the representative of the World Bank for North Africa and the Maghreb, as well as the Director General of the African Development Bank.

These initiatives testify to Tunisia’s continuous commitment to strengthen its international financial partnerships and to promote sustainable economic development.
