The government’s chef, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, received this Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Palais de la Kasbah the director general and chairman of the board of directors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (FADES), BADR Mohamed al-Saad, on an official visit to Tunisia from May 21 to 25.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of the Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, the chief of staff of the government’s chef, Moncef Hamdi, as well as several officials from the Presidency of the Government.

On this occasion, the two parties mentioned the recent projects supported by the fund, including the rehabilitation of the national road n ° 20 between El Faouar and Rjim Maatoug (Governorate of Kébili) and the development of the rail network. Other projects are being studied in the fields of road infrastructure, agriculture, water and drinking water supply.

The government’s heading recalled that FADADS financed 65 projects in Tunisia, mainly in the infrastructure, agriculture, industry, rural and education sectors. The fund has also provided technical support through 23 missions, and 17 projects are currently being completed.

The discussions also focused on the prospects for medium and long -term cooperation. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri said that several projects are scheduled in the fields of rail transport, education, health, renewable energies and environmental initiatives.

The Director General of FADES reaffirmed the commitment of the fund to continue its cooperation with Tunisia in the sectors deemed priority.
