In the coming months, public hospitals in Tunisia will receive a major reinforcement in health equipment. According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, 47 type A ambulances as well as 3 all-terrain ambulances of type B will be delivered to improve emergency medical intervention capacities.

This deployment follows the official delivery, supervised today by the Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, of 41 medical buses, 12 refrigeration trucks and 133 service vehicles for public health establishments. This equipment has been funded thanks to the support of the European Union within the framework of the “Health is precious” program.

The Minister stressed that these new means are not simply materials, but a real lever to restore value to public health, bring the medical services closer to populations and lighten patient suffering in distant regions.

These initiatives illustrate the joint desire of the Tunisian authorities and European partners to strengthen the supply of public care and improve medical coverage across the country.

This material support meets the pressing needs of health establishments in terms of mobility and conservation of medical products, in particular thanks to refrigerated trucks essential for the transport of vaccines and other sensitive drugs.

Improving the fleet of hospital vehicles is a key element to ensure rapid, effective interventions adapted to Tunisian geographic realities.

The “Health is precious” program thus continues to invest in the Tunisian health system, with particular attention paid to rural and isolated areas.
