The Minister of Religious Affairs and Head of the official delegation of Tunisian pilgrims, Ahmed Bouhali, said on Sunday that Tunisian pilgrims finished the first phase of the Hajj rites “in the best conditions” and that they are “in good health”.
In a statement to the TAP agency, Bouhali indicated that a Tunisian pilgrim died naturally two days ago. He was accompanied by his wife, also present to complete the pilgrimage.
The minister made visits to three hotels in Mecca to inquire about the conditions of stay of Tunisian pilgrims. He assured that the pilgrims benefit from a good supervision, that they accomplished the first rites, namely the Tawaf and the Sai, in good conditions, and expressed the hope that they will pursue the rest of the rituals “in the best possible way”.
According to data previously published by the TAP agency, the total number of Tunisian pilgrims for this season amounts to 10,982 people, including 60 % women and 40 % men. The Tunisian mission has 330 members, among whom 60 are part of the medical team and 100 are religious guides.
