Tunisian Moez Chargui (191st world) won the Challenger 4 of Hersonissos, Greece, taking advantage of the abandonment of his French opponent Dan Added (286th) in the third set on Saturday. This is his third title of the month after his victories in Porto and Monastir.

The final started in favor of the French Dan Added, winner of the first set 7-5. Moez Chargui reacted in the second round, winning 6-4. In the decisive set, the Tunisian led 3-0 when his opponent, reduced by an injury, was forced to abandon, thus offering the title to the Tunisian.

Even if the victory was sealed by the abandonment of his opponent, Chargui confirmed his regularity and his good dynamic on the Challenger circuit. The Greek public, present in number, praised the fighting spirit of the two players.

Chargui had validated his ticket for the final by dominating French Robin Bertrand (315th) in two sets (6-4, 6-1). Previously, he had dismissed the German Mats Rosenkranz (352nd) in quarters (7-6, 6-3) and the Greek Pavlos Tsitsipas (960th) in eighth (4-6, 6-4, 6-2).

This coronation comes after an impressive series: the Tunisian had already won two Challenger tournaments in August, in Porto (August 3) and then in Monastir (August 10).
