The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy has granted the Compagnie des Phosphates de Gafsa (CPG) a research license on mineral substances in group V-phosphate-in the region of Nefta-tozeur, located in the governorate of Tozeur.
This authorization is valid for an initial period of three years.
According to the decision of the Minister of Industry, published in the Official Journal No. 97 of the year 2025, the so-called “Nefta-Toteur” license covers 41 primary perimeters, a total area of 16,400 hectares. This license is governed by the provisions of the Mines Code, while respecting the rights legally acquired by third parties.
During the validity period of this authorization, which takes effect upon publication in the Official Journal, the CPG undertakes to carry out the minimum program of exploration work to which it has subscribed.
The estimated overall cost of this program amounts to around 45.9 million dinars. In addition, the company will have to regularize the land situation with the owners of the land concerned before being able to operate them, in accordance with the provisions of the Mines Code.
