The Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, led this work meeting on Monday, August 4, 2025. Several specialists and managers of the National Organ Transplantation Center participated. Together, they took stock of the advancement of the national program and envisaged improvement tracks.
The discussions focused on a clear goal: to make the system faster, better coordinated and more efficient.
Several decisions have been made. The State plans to provide medical teams with modern equipment and reinforced staff. A national digital platform will facilitate coordination between the actors, from the identification of donors to the transplants.
The process digitization will be done at all steps. The ministry also wants to support research and strengthen training in the field of transplantation.
All health professionals will be trained in the culture of organ donation. The objective is also to make the general public aware of this solidarity act, carrier of life.
Since the 1980s, Tunisia has been a pioneer in Africa and in the Arab world. Today, it aims to take up a reference position by widening the culture of donation to save ever more lives.
