The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy announced, in a statement published on Tuesday, the appointment of Nafaa Baccari as Managing Director of The National Agency for Energy Management (Anme)to replace Fethi Hanchi.

This decision comes within the framework of a series of changes at the head of certain institutions under the ministry, aimed at instilling a new dynamic in the energy sector, particularly in terms of energy transition and energy efficiency.

The appointment of Nafaa Bakkari, which has solid experience in the energy field, is part of a desire to strengthen the strategic role of the ANME in the implementation of national policies in renewable energy, rationalization of energy consumption and sustainable development.

Nafaa Baccari, a graduate engineer of the National School of Engineering of Monastir (ENIM), has more than 27 years of experience within the National Agency for Energy Management (Anme), which he integrated in 1997.

A recognized specialist in the field of renewable energies, he held several positions of responsibility, including those of solar energy director and then director of renewable energies between 2018 and 2021.

He notably piloted the Tunisian Wind Energy Development (TWED) strategic program, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), aimed at structuring the private wind sector in Tunisia. Co -founder and president of the Tunisian Wind Energy Association (TWEA) since 2012, Nafaa Baccari has established itself as one of the key players in the energy transition in Tunisia.

His appointment at the head of the Anme reflects the authorities’ desire to strengthen the national strategy in terms of energy efficiency and sustainable development.
