Tunisia and the Philippines want to strengthen their links

This Monday, August 11, 2025, Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Roderico C. ATIENZA, Affairs Officer of the Philippines in Tunisia. They discussed friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

According to the ministry’s press release, the two countries want to improve economic and commercial exchanges. They also plan to share their knowledge in tourism and the fight against climate change.

An action plan will be set up. It will set the main activities to come, as meetings between Tunisian and Philippine officials.

The Minister recalled the importance of political consultations that have existed since 2015. He insisted on preparing the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations, scheduled for 2026.

The two countries have also confirmed their common support for the Palestinian cause. They want to coordinate their positions at the international level, especially in the face of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
