The Minister of Health, Dr Mustapha Ferjani, received this department on August 15, 2025, at the headquarters of his department, a delegation from the Tunisian Nuclear Medicine Association. This meeting made it possible to examine the means to strengthen this strategic field, both in terms of diagnosis and treatment.
Among the priorities mentioned are the integration of the most recent technologies to improve patient care, the multiplication of national production of radiopharmaceutical drugs in order to reach self -sufficiency, and the installation of a PET Scan device for each million inhabitants in order to reduce waiting times.
The ministry also wishes to create new nuclear medicine services in the interior regions and closely follow international scientific advances to guarantee high quality care.
Ferjani has reaffirmed the commitment of his department to include this development in a national strategy for modernizing the health system, while encouraging initiatives promoting the progress of the nuclear pharmaceutical industry in Tunisia.
