The Ministry of Education announces the opening of 19 new schools for the start of the 2025/2026 school year and the continuation of hundreds of infrastructure projects across the country, as part of an “attractive public school”.

The director general of the International Center for Educational Innovation, Zakaria Dassi, said that these projects are part of a national program to improve school infrastructure, for a total cost of 160 million dinars.

Construction of 40 new establishments

Initiatives include the construction of 40 new establishments, including 19 loans for the start of the September 15 school year; 300 projects for the expansion and creation of new rooms; 282 maintenance and renovation projects of existing establishments.

A digital system has been set up to prioritize projects as needed, including the modernization of buildings, room equipment, offices, improvement of spaces and the generalization of mobile laboratories in colleges and high schools.

An “attractive public school”

Zakaria Dassi stressed that these projects have been decided on the basis of scientific studies and a prospective vision. He also recalled that the ministry provides citizens with interactive monitoring via its website and official pages, in order to strengthen the opening of establishments to their environment.

These initiatives are part of the preparation of the school year 2025/2026, placed under the theme of an “attractive public school”. They aim to improve the access, comfort and modernity of schools across the country.
