The former Minister of the Interior and candidate for the post of Prime Minister in Italy, Matteo Salvini is again in the heart of a controversy. This time, the scandal concerns a Tunisian family.
In a video published live on Facebook, we see the far -right leader walking in a district of the suburbs of the city of Bologna. Accompanied by several people, he decides to ring the intercom of a building and come across a Tunisian family!
As soon as he hears the voice of a young man responding to the intercom, Salvini asks him if he is really a drug dealer and if he could go up to them. These accusations came from a lady from the region who accompanied the manager and gave him instructions.
Without compliance with the identities of the people concerned or their privacy, we hear on the video the names of the people suspected of being drug traffickers.
Explaining his action to journalists, the Italian official said he received a complaint from a lady living in the district relating to suspicions around this Tunisian family.
“There is a complaint that the lady has made and we intend to follow her. I went to the house of this family and asked the young man if he is a drug trafficker or not, but he replied that there was no one in the house. Why did I do that? I did it as a citizen “.
Furious criticisms and reactions were not limited to the inhabitants of the neighborhood, who were indignant by this action. Italian politicians and deputies have also expressed their anger.
The representative of the Democratic Party and under-secretary to economic development, Alessia Morani described Matteto Salvini as “scoundrel” and “dangerous provocative having exceeded all limits”.
Note that the young man who responded to the intercom, alleged drug trafficker, is 17. “In the past, I have done everything, but now I am a very ordinary young man who goes to school,” he told Salvini, confirming in a fanpage statement.
