Where is the epidemic of coronavirus or covid-19 (the name of the disease), in the world? More than two months after the appearance of the virus in Wuhan, in the Chinese province of Hubei, the epidemic is still not circumscribed.
According to the WHO, the virus has already contaminated more than 76,000 people in China and 1,100 elsewhere in the world, and caused more than 2345 dead, which justifies that the world population remains alert in the face of the spread of the coronavirus.
In the world, 25 countries are affected with nearly 800 cases, the last of which were recorded in Italy where a 78-year-old man, hospitalized for another disease and infected by the COVID-19, died February 21, 2020.
This is the first death of a European affected by the virus. This death recorded in Veneto caused a wind of panic in eleven cities in northern Italy and led to the closure of public places, especially after the census of 20 cases of contamination in this country which thus becomes the most affected in Europe.
In continental China, the most affected country, the health authorities announced this Saturday, 109 new deaths, against 118 the day before, for a national total of 2345.
Apart from continental China and two cases in Europe, twelve deaths were identified: 4 in Iran, 2 in Hongkong, 2 in South Korea, 2 on board the Diamond Princess liner placed in quarantine in Japan, and 3 in three other Asian countries (Japan, Philippines and Taiwan).
