A 70 -year -old man in the Chinese province of the Hubei had been infected with the coronavirus but had not shown any symptoms before 27 days, said Chinese provincial government said on Saturday February 22, 2020, which means that the virus incubation period could be much longer than the alleged period of 14 days, reports Reuters.
From there, a longer incubation period could complicate efforts to contain the spread of the epidemic which has hitherto killed nearly 2,400 people and has spread outside China.
This discovery although isolated, could complicate efforts to thwart the coronavirus.
