Ons Jabeur’s great performances are certainly for many in the return to the life of Tunis Open.

After two years of pandemic who got the better of Tunis Open, now the 16th edition of this prestigious tournament will be held, as usual, at the Tennis Club of Tunis from May 15 to 21.

This Tunis Open, now called the “Tunis Open by Kia”, started with the qualifications since Friday before the start of the final table from today.

Regarding the organization of this tournament, the president of the Tennis Club of Tunis, Kheireddine Kechrid, said that “the organization of this tournament costs around 700 thousand dinars, and they had to be found. The whole steering committee as well as all the sponsors, we mobilized to achieve this objective. And I want to thank them ”.

Aziz Zouhir, ex-president of Esperance and one of the main sponsors, as well as the main sponsor of Nana Trophy which allowed, among other things, on Ons Jabeur to arise, intervened in these terms:

“The holding of this tournament can only be favorable for our players who can learn a lot like Malek Jaziri, who has reached a good 50th place in the ATP ranking, while the winners of this tournament then made beautiful careers like Sundndstrom, Monfils or Sanchez”.

This edition of the “Tunis Open by Kia” would see the participation of three players appearing in the Top 100 like the Australian Jordan Thompson (85th place), the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (96th) or the French Quentin Halys (100th) who will make his teeth in anticipation of the next Roland-Garros.

Among the Tunisians who will be present during this “Tunis Open by Kia” there will be Malek Jaziri, Skander Mansouri or Aziz Ouakaa. There will also be three “Wild Cards” which will be allocated by TCT to other Tunisian players, a question of allowing them to measure themselves to classified players.

Finally, the director of the tournament, Hichem Riani, underlined, that Tunis Open by Kia is an ATP tournament with Hospitality where the winner obtains 80 points for a money-prize of 53,000 dollars.
