The Italian government extended by decree published Monday, March 9, to the whole country, the exceptional measures to contain millions of Italians living in the North.
These restrictions are valid until April 3. Thus, some 60 million Italians are requested to stay at home from Tuesday, in order to fight the coronavirus.
Italy thus becomes the first country to apply this son -in -law of draconian measures to try to slow down the progression of the coronavirus, which has already left 463 dead and more than 9000 cases in the peninsula.
A large Tunisian community currently lives in Italy, whose fate remains unknown, while the country has prohibited all citizens from leaving Italy by any way. However, the various Tunisian diplomatic representations called on Tunisian nationals not to give in to panic and to contact its services at the slightest need.
The majority of the five cases recorded in Tunisia come from Italy given the huge air and maritime traffic between the two countries.
Yesterday Tunisia announced that it has suspended all flights and crossings with this country except that connecting Tunis Rome. But after the decision of the Italian authorities, this flight was also suspended.
