Scientific studies on the modes of transmission of the coronavirus continue. Last discovery, the virus could circulate up to 4 meters in the air from a patient.
Indeed, a study carried out in Wuhan in China, a city where the virus was born, shows that indeed, the COVVI-19 contaminates both the surfaces and the air near the patients, and up to four meters from them.
The study carried out in a Wuhan campaign hospital and published last Friday by the American prevention and control of disease centers, however, does not allow whether the particles in the air will be in sufficient quantity to infect another person.
So we cannot know if the viral load which contaminates the air four meters from sick people remains strong enough to contaminate others.
“The SARS-COV-2 was widely distributed in the air and on the surface of objects in the resuscitation and general care services, which implies a potentially high risk of contamination for nursing staff and other close contacts,” write the researchers.
