After a first failure to adopt a resolution on international management of the health crisis, Tunisia presented, again, but this time with France a new draft resolution relating to the same overlock.

Indeed, the project of Tunisia and France, of three pages, was handed over yesterday Wednesday, April 22, calling for the 15 members of the Security Council to “enhanced coordination” against the coronavirus and a “cessation of hostilities” in countries at its agenda, according to the text obtained by the AFP agency.

“Discussions will start” soon “after the members of their comments,” said diplomats on condition of anonymity to the same agency.

The project claims “the urgent need for reinforced coordination among all countries to fight the pandemic and requires a general and immediate cessation of hostilities in all countries at the Security Council agenda, in support of efforts to this sense of the UN Secretary General”, it was also said.

Recalling that Tunisia had failed to adopt a first resolution calling for “urgent international action” to reduce the repercussions of the coronavirus.

This project had confirmed the call of the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, “an immediate cease-fire worldwide for humanitarian reasons”.
