The Coronavirus is back in China where eleven residential districts in the south of Beijing, the capital, were subjected to confinement due to the appearance of a new home in COVID-19 in a market, the Chinese authorities announced this Saturday, June 13, 2020.
Indeed, after the appearance and registration of seven cases of coronavirus contamination in the vicinity of a market, the health authorities ordered the closure of nearby schools and gardens.
In addition, all the inhabitants of eleven districts in the Fengtai district were ordered to remain confined to their homes while cases are mostly linked to a local meat market, local officials said during a press briefing.
A first case of COVID-19 in Beijing had been announced this Thursday, June 11, the first in two months. It turned out that this person went to the Xinfadi market last week and had not left the city recently. Among the six new cases announced on Saturday are three market employees in question.
These new cases fear a resurgence of the epidemic in China. Moreover, those responsible for the Fengtai district announced on Saturday set up a “war mechanism” to face this new wave of contaminations.
China, where the Coronavirus appeared last December officially recorded more than 83,000 cases of contamination and 4,634 deaths at the time of the United States, lists more than 2 million patients and 114,669 deaths. Globally 7,654,659 cases were recorded for 425,903 deaths.
