The Algerian authorities have prohibited any activity of the private French channel M6 following the dissemination of a report on the “Hirak” (protest movement in Algeria) in the flagship program “exclusive investigation”.
Indeed, it is the Algerian Ministry of Communication which announced yesterday Monday, September 21, the decision to “no longer authorize M6 to operate in Algeria”.
The Ministry of Communication accuses this documentary, entitled “Algeria, the country of all revolts” to “take a biased look at the Hirak” and to have been made by a team with a “false filming authorization”, reports the AFP agency.
“This precedent leads us to decide not to authorize M6 to operate in Algeria, in any form whatsoever,” says the ministry.
The Algerian authorities castigate in this sense “insipid testimonies”, “the most reductive stereotypes” and “a sum of anecdotes without depth”.
