During his speech on separatism in Yvelines in France, the French president Emanuel Macron estimated that Islam is experiencing a crisis today.
Quoted by Le Figaro, Emmanuel Macron explained that this religion lives “a deep crisis” all over the world, recalling the tensions between “the fundamentalisms which build religious or political projects and which lead a very strong hardening, including in countries where Islam is the majority religion”.
The French president has mentioned in particular the case of Tunisia, claiming that in our country, Islam also experiences a deep crisis. Indeed, speaking to the French, Macron notably took the example of Tunisia to say that thirty years ago, the situation was radically different in the application of this religion ”.
“I want there to be no confusion or an amalgam. None of these realities should be crushed on each other. But it is clear that there is a radical Islamism which leads to denying the laws of the Republic.
What is our challenge today is to fight against the drift of some in the name of religion, ensuring that those who want to believe in Islam are not targeted and are fully citizens of our Republic and basically, for years, “he concluded.
