Ons Jabeur, 5th in the WTA ranking, was eliminated yesterday from the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament from San Jose (hard surface) in the United States after being beaten by Russian Veronika Kudermetova, 19th in the WTA ranking. Ons Jabeur lost in two sets (6-7 and 2-6) against the Russian.
Exocused from the first round, Ons Jabeur had reached the quarter-finals by having the American Madison Keys (27th) 7-5, 6-1 on Thursday.
The WTA 500 tournament from San José is preparation for the US Open, the fourth Grand Chelem tournament, scheduled from August 29 to September 11. Next week, the Tunisian will be in Canada to take part in the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto.
