In France, the former President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy was indicted by the national financial prosecutor’s office at the end of four days of hearing for “criminal association”.

An instill that is part of the investigation into suspicions of Libyan financing of its presidential campaign in 2007, the national financial public prosecutor’s office at AFP said this Friday, after mediapart information.

This new prosecution, revealed by the online information site, is the fourth in this file for Nicolas Sarkozy, after the indictments pronounced in March 2018 for “passive corruption”, “concealment of embezzlement of public funds” and “illegal campaign funding”.

Even if Nicolas Sarkozy has always proclaimed his innocence in the face of the accusations of financing by the regime of Muammar Gaddafi of his campaign, no formal evidence has never been found, but a heavy beam of clues makes a corruption pact plausible between the teams of Nicolas Sarkozy and Mouammar Gaddafi, had written the Paris court of appeal last September.
