Our national champion, Ons Jabeur, got rid of the American, Catherine McALLY, in the knockout stages of the Cincinnati tournament. Ons struggled to overcome the world’s n ° 179 after three rounds.
The first set was won by the Tunisian, 3-6, but the American found the resources necessary to win the following set, 4-6, and equalize for a round everywhere. The third set was very disputed and it took all of Ons to tear off the Tie Break, 9 points to 7.
In eighths, Ons Jabeur will face the Czech Petra Kvitová.
