Mohamed Farhat, Tunisian journalist at France 24, said that the author of the attack had joined the Italian coast on October 9, aboard an illegal immigration boat.

He added that the suspect is currently staying in hospital, that his condition is not serious, and that his identity is being confirmation by DNA.
“The public prosecutor of France should give more details on the author of the operation this evening,” he added, highlighting the great anger within the Tunisian community in Nice.
