The identity of the author of the Nice attack is now confirmed. It is Ibrahim Aissaoui, a 21 -year -old from Thyna, governorate of Sfax.
The assailant, who accosted on the Italian coast on October 6, following an illegal emigration operation, headed for France after having performed around the island of Lampedusa.
The Al-Hadath channel went to the suspect’s home and spoke with his mother who said that his son had called him the day before the attack to inform him of his trip to France.
“I criticized him for going to France since he knew no one there and that he does not speak the language,” she added.
For his part, his brother said that the news of his brother’s involvement in this attack was a shock for the whole family, denying any terrorist tendency at home.
“The day before the attack, he had sent me an image on the steps of the cathedral in which the operation had taken place and informed me that he was going to spend the night there,” added the brother.
He assured that he had not noticed anything suspect in the author of the attack, who worked as a mechanic and then employed in a gas station before choosing to leave the country illegally.
