Six places in the Austrian capital Vienna were targeted, on the evening of Monday, October 2, by a coordinated attack. Several dead and injured were reported, according to an initial assessment.
One of the suspects, the number of which is not known, is still on the run, while another was killed by the police. Starting from a synagogue, the attack would then have taken place in five other nearby places.
On his Twitter account, the Austrian chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, condemned a “repugnant terrorist attack”. “We will never be intimidated by terrorism and will resolutely fight against these attacks by all means,” he said.
For his part, the Austrian Minister of the Interior, Karl Nehammer, said on Tuesday at a press conference that the striker that the police had shot was a sympathizer of the terrorist organization Daesh.
