Not in the stadiums and not during the meetings, the sale of beer will be allowed in Qatar during the World Cup, a first.
According to Reuters, after several months of discussions with FIFA, the Qatari authorities authorized the sale of beers to ticket holders which will be authorized only around stadiums three hours before and an hour after the World Cup in Qatar (November 20-December 18).
The FIFA site also promises “beers, champagne, wines and spirits” in VIP spaces.
Qatar strictly supervises alcohol sales and consumption, only enabled, in normal times, in bars and restaurants with a license, especially in international hotels, recalls the team.
