Ons Jabeur, currently 5th in the WTA ranking, will find her number 2 place she had reached on June 27 and then lost due to the non -accounting of points in Wimbledon.
Ons Jabeur, a Wimbledon finalist, had demoted in 5th place in the ranking of July 11, 2022, losing 330 points in his total.
The organizers of Wimbledon having decided to exclude the Russians from the 2022 edition, following the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the ATP and the WTA had therefore decided to penalize the tournament by withdrawing the points of the rankings.
Whatever, Ons Jabeur will be officially number 2 in the WTA ranking, as of next Monday, whatever the result of the latter’s final final of the year (+2,000 points for the winner), thanks to his journey to the US Open.
Before her final against the world number 1, the Tunisian was able to earn 1170 points for a total of 5090 points, ahead of Anett Kontaveit (4,300 points), but far behind Swiatek (9,665 points).
