The Tunisian basketball federation (FTBB) decided, this Tuesday, September 13, 2022, to appoint the Franco-Turkish Erman Kunter at the head of the national male basketball selection for three seasons to replace the German Dirk Bauermann.
Erman Kunter led a player career for 17 years from 1975 to 1992 by playing in Besiktas, Fenerbache before hanging up to Cukurova Sanayi and is recorded selections with the Turkish national team (213).
As an entity, he led to the Turkish selection (1997-2000) Galatasaray and Besiktas with an experience in France with ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne, Cholet and Le Mans. He won the championship in 2010 with Cholet and the Cup in 2016 with Le Mans.
He has been naturalized French since September 2010 and therefore has dual nationality.
Finally, he presented himself in the elections to the presidency of the Turkish basketball federation in 2021, Kunter was beaten by the outgoing president and former player of the NBA Hidayet Turkoglu.
